Healing Justice engages a variety of expert advisors in the design and implementation of our programmatic work as well as the oversight of our federal grant-funded projects. These advisors include restorative justice practitioners, victim advocates, former criminal legal officials, and social workers - and, importantly, directly impacted crime victims and survivors, exonerated individuals, and family members.
Current advisors include (alphabetically):
Debbie Archer, TX

Aurelia Sands Belle, SC
David Boyce, VA
Lorie Brisbin, DC
Janet Burke, VA
Colleen Clase, AZ
Steve Derene, WI
Neva Fernandez
Gail Guerin, LA
Andrea Harrison, MD
Kerry McElwee, DE
Robyn Masella, OR
Elizabeth (Liz) Richards, MN
Anne Seymour, DC
Yolanda Thomas, AL
In addition, Sister Helen Prejean (LA) serves as an Honorary Advisor to Healing Justice. Sister Prejean advises us on crime survivor engagement and support specifically in cases being reviewed post-conviction and resentenced based on reasons other than actual innocence. The number of these cases is rapidly growing due largely to the creation of prosecution-based conviction and sentence review units and expanded resentencing laws nationwide. Healing Justice now supports crime survivors in cases that are being reviewed post-conviction and resentenced based on reasons other than actual innocence.
